We provide Animal Control services to the Towns of Aurora and Markham. We patrol all areas of the towns and respond to residents complaints during these hours. Residents who are able may drop a stray dogs or cats off at the shelter at any time during regular shelter hours Monday through Sunday.

Residents can redeem pets from the shelter during regular shelter hours. Please check with shelter staff to verify fees prior to picking up. We accept VISA, MasterCard, Debit card and cash.

Please Note: Animal Control for the Towns of Newmarket, East Gwillimbury, Whitchurch-Stouffville and Georgina has advised that they will no longer pick up stray cats from this location. All stray cats from the above locations will need to be taken directly to the Georgina facility at 26819 Civic Center Road in Keswick (1-800-898-8606).

Adoption Hours:

Monday to Wednesday & Saturday:
12 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Thursday & Friday:
12 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Sunday:
12 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Directions:

  • From Toronto and area: Go south on the 404/Don Valley Parkway to Newmarket.
    Take the Mulock/Vivian Road Exit and turn right (east) onto Vivian Road.  The first set of lights is Woodbine. Turn right (south) onto Woodbine and we are about 300 meters up the road on the right.
  • From areas North East: Take Highway 48 south to Highway 9. Turn right (west) onto Highway 9 and follow it to Woodbine. Turn left (south) onto Woodbine and follow it to the shelter (approximately 350 meters) on the right.
  • From areas North West: Take Highway 400 south to Highway 9. Turn left (east) onto Hwy 9 and follow it to Woodbine (approximately 15 km). Turn left (south) onto Woodbine and follow it to the shelter (approximately 2.5km) on the right.
